Per Apache's recommendations is that .htaccess files shouldn't be used, as this will effect performance. However, if you do not have access to httpd main server config file, JayDMS provides .htaccess files as needed in specific directories.
If you do have access to httpd main server config file, you can replicate the configurations per directories shown above. If you're running on and have access to a Nginx server, you can replicate the configurations per directories shown above using this converter and how-to article. There is also an available nginx_example.conf file you can use.
Make sure PHP has writing capabilities along with having the PHP_OpenSSL module installed and enabled.
Installation is very simple and straight forward. Simply visit your domain with the control panel path "/cp", and you'll be brought to the installation form if the config and user files are not found. Fill in the necessary inputs and submit. You'll be taken to the sign-in page once completed.
